Thanks for the video, very nice comprehensive (when it comes to the core) review!
Just to be fair to Kaspersky Labs, the product supports ELAM (Early Launch of Anti Malware) in Windows 8.1 (and also previously 8). What you see loading when you log in is the user interface of Kaspersky and not the antivirus module. A rootkit scan is performed in boot time (unless you disable ELAM in Windows Group Policy settings), and stuff can get caught at that level as well (during startup). So Kaspersky does start before unsigned things and right after the most important kernel-dependent stuff. Also it is true, 80% is a very low ratio, but keep in mind that the KSN (Kaspersky Security Network) kicks in when something starts (even though the scan missed it), and deeper static and dynamic heuristics take place both locally (when you are offline) and at the level of the servers of Kaspersky Labs (when you are online), like what happened with the PDM (proactive defense module) in your video ( One zero day module of KAV). I guess the scans are not set by default to very sensitive that's why! Good job!

So this review was done in July. Have you continued with the product and do you feel any better about it 5 months later? I use to have Kaspersky like a year ago but then switched to Bitdefender but I don't like there version to save passwords for credit cards etc so I want to go back to Kaspersky cause I felt it was easy to use.. Please let me k, now what you think thanks

Doesn't having more than one anti virus or malware software interfere with Kaspersky? Or is it more so just a kind of USB app you used to check on Kaspersky?

Surprising; I use Kaspersky TDSS Killer (manual), and I know HitMan Pro says it uses cloud BitDefender and Kaspersky Enterprise; is it possible Kaspersky has a glitch in the consumer version, or possible it's some "pay to upgrade" scheme? Even Comodo CIS7 free has seen its AV download page "down" over weekends randomly lately, while pushing "Geek Buddy" to clean infections.

Great review, and Kaspersky is always my first choice - I've never seen anything but gleaming reviews/results on sites like AV-Comparitives, anyone who thinks sticking to MSE/Windows Defender is a decent idea needs to check this out!

I have PAID for this program...not happy as it has not picked up certain viruses? viruii? I will not be renewing it..when registration expires... Sad...Thanks for the info. Should I be also using an antispyware program /superantispyware? to be sure?

Kaspersky is good, but their software is quite buggy. It does pickup on a lot of threats, but many times the software causes issues, such as saying your registration is invalid, the excessive resource consumption, it can become extremely complex for the average user such as with the Firewall, etc.

If you are going to buy Kaspersky, use Amazon, as you can get it for $30-$35 for a year license for three devices. It may not be the best out there, but it is worth the money, although it can be challenging to get it to work properly. Believe you can do a lot worse then Kaspersky. The only problem is that Kaspersky by itself is not enough protect your PC altogether, although it is a good foundation.

What I noticed with Kaspersky is its infrequent updates. You install the program, it tells you that the database is outdated but does not do anything. You turn on your PC after multiple days staying off and again it needs more than an hour to update its databases. Additionally, the most frequent update interval you can set is "daily". This is too bad for any antivirus. Looks like they just want to keep their update servers' traffic low. Even if this is the best antivirus it is worth nothing if it is not up-to-date. I also wonder why update behavior is not tested by the labs.

I have installed a kaspersky internet security 2015 in my laptop which is running on windows 10 OS.AFTER INSTALLING IT SHOWS A MESSAGE EVERY TIME ( PROTECTION MIGHT BE AT RISK) . CLICKING ON THE MESSAGE IT SAYS TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER.BUT THIS DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I have rebooted it a number of times but still the same.Every thing is up to date . the system and the anti virus. what is the issue kindkly any answers please. ?
