This would be so amazing. So much fun to be able to play baseball with your dad. That would also be a fun time in the clubhouse

Both good players in their own right, although the son had much more power.

Ken Sr. - 2143 hits (152 HR), .296/.359/.431, 3x All-Star
Ken Jr. - 2781 hits (630 HR), .284/.370/.538, 13x All-Star, 1997 MVP

Griffey Jr flashing a big ol' silly "ain't ya proud of me?" grin to his dad over on 2nd base is about the most pure, adorable moment in all of baseball.

The feeling in that stadium, this was epic...

Jr. Had such a awsome swing, he could always find a way to get extended on his hits!

As a kid I seen KG sr hit a chopper directly at the 2nd baseman and beat the throw, that’s how fast he was in his early years. He did not try to steal a lot of bases but a tough by the shortstop or 3rd baseman almost never got him at first.

Griffey Sr. was a very good player for a long time but was completely eclipsed by his son.

They should have used Dave Niehaus' call, it's better

Griffey Sr. hit over 300 in his time with Seattle. It was a small sample space but when you look at his batting averages per team that he was with (Reds, Yankees, Braves, Mariners), the highest batting average was in a Mariners uniform. Why didn't he get to stay on the team longer or play more? He was obviously happy and the fans loved it and he was playing well for a bargain salary. Age and rebuilding for the future shouldn't matter when you just brought a guy in (even if they partially did it to pair up father and son). Respect to the Griffey family...

That’s got to be the coolest thing in the world, the only thing better than that is “if both of them were to ever go back to back home runs.”

He earned it to play alone side his father. 😢😢 Nothing given to him or strings pull.

The Mariners, at one time, had Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, and Randy Johnson and couldn’t win. Unbelievable.
