The reason the text on deepseek app was lighter is because the drop down for it's thoughts was on, so it was writing its thoughts before providing an answer. It's because you have the thinking mode switched on along with the search mode. 🙂

Another interesting difference between both that I've notice, GPT has some censured sensitive themes such as conspiracy theories for example, and Deepseek is more open to answer questions regarding those themes.

with deepseek, you have to disable deepthink, that’s why it’s giving you so much preamble before the answer. otherwise, it would answer more concisely. deepthink is for questions requiring more thoughtful or nuanced answers.
like with the python question, if you disable deepthink, it would have answered much in the way of chatgpt.

that light colored text is not your answer rather deep seek is thinking to generate the answer and this mode is DEEPTHINK R1 mode which shows the thinking and reasoning process of AI model as well

the way it thinks could be very helpful for those who want to learn, but if you just want an answer, it's less helpful. It does show how it thinks though - which is pretty interesting
