As a result of CJI doing it the same weekend, ADCC started giving show money and made the women’s win money equal to men. So CJI has already been a net positive from an athlete perspective.

I think having them on the same day proved how many athletes were willing to choose the money over the “prestige” of adcc except the athletes that got paid under the table 😂

It should not have taken an athlete to make ADCC realize things need to change. they could have got their own money person long time ago, but they did not. These guys are grown men $10, 000 is nothing. At least raise it to $20, 000. Also, Craig did say he plans on doing this again next year with the same amount of money.

“ADCC/grappling can’t be making that much money” they rented out T mobile which costs $2 million for two days so they do make a good amount of money

It's ridiculous how little ADCC pay the athletes. Spend less on the venue. Why does it have to be in Vegas

Brother, ADCC is paying athletes upwards of $100k show money under the table, they had the money they just choose not to pay everyone out until they got called out

Mo just has a huge ego. That is one of the main issues and he's riding the "prestige" of ADCC in order to lowball fighters as if they were teens.

ADCC doesn’t need to exist. It’s a legacy brand, and if it dies it’s not a loss as long as there is a better replacement.

Cji exposed adcc. They had money for athletes all along but wouldn’t give it to them because adcc had no competition

Adcc doesn’t pay the most after CJI. You got events like Sapateiro and PGF giving out 100k. You got even EBI and CJJ giving out 40k. Lots if other pro nogi events these days are giving 10k like ADCC.

CJI helped BJJ a lot best grappling event I’ve seen ever. CJI is the new premier jiu jitsu tournament.

CJI was not an attack on ADCC, it was a statement for BJJ as a whole. Routolo v Tackett had my cousin screaming at the TV and he doesn’t even know the difference between an armbar and a kimura. Now he wants to join a gym. 120k live viewers on YouTube. This is the right step forward.

I have never watched a Jiu jitsu tournament live online before CJI…. Having a free stream was amazing. I’m sure a lot of other people like me tuned in. Now I am watching clips of ADCC…. I believe it’s just going to help grow the sport and it’s going to force ADCC to improve as well. Overall I believe ADCC will also benefit even though they are competing against each other. The athletes will also benefit from increased exposure, pay, and opportunity…. Those who didn’t make it to ADCC might have an opportunity in CJI.

CJI was the best grappling event ever! Ever! It looked a lot better than ADCC, it felt better, the whole concept is better and feels more prestigious than ADCC.

CJI is great in that it’s paying athletes more but advertising it as the highest paid grappling tournament isn’t going to get eyes or butts in seats. Making it the same day as ADCC is proof the intent isn’t to make ADCC better, it’s to ruin it. ADCC is over every two years. This could have been during alternative years.

I believe ADCC should change its rules. they should prevent stalling for exciting game. I think EBI has very exciting bjj games.

Adcc needs to understand that it cannot monopolise grappling anymore!

Now that the first day of CJI was streamed by 1.2 million people shows that people need change.
The matches were excellent! hardly any boring match. Stalling was penalised
