If you are new here, I can't currently commit to a regular livestream due to my daughters complex needs so I try to do a regular weekly scrap chat premier as a way of chatting and keeping in touch with you guys whilst showing what I've been up to during the week. I was away for over a year nursing my youngest who had cancer but he devastatingly passed away in December 2023. Life is very tough, grieving for a child is the worst pain imaginable, but I am determined to carry on for the others and find joy in the thigs I can, because life is short and my promise to Benny is that I am not going to waste it!! I need to have some stories to tell him when we are all back together again!! Many of you know that Benny wasn't my biological child, but I raised him and loved him as my own, he is my great nephew who I took on when my sister passed away, but I couldn't love or miss him any more than I do right now and I'll honour him for the rest of my life!

I also am a bodycam girl, it isn't for everyone, if you get dizzy or seasick them bodycam isn't for you! I've tried a tripod on my bench but it just isn't practical, I don't have the space, hopefully when I get my bigger workshop next year I can set up a tripod and lose the bodycam, but for now I work with what I've got!

I'm fully licenced for my area and ask prior permission for items inside skips and so far nobody has ever said no, they want the extra space :) I still do quick dives to avoid passing comments, especially as I'm usually out in the evening.

Awesome episode it's getting harder to find the old stuff now. There is an asbestos holiday camp from the 70, s thick woodland all around massive iron gates looks like the start of a zombie movie. When first discovered we climbed in not knowing why it was abandoned water in the pool swings swinging on there own. Anyways the control room is full of the stuff we all love. Very tempting to revisit in full has mat and claim the goodies.

I've made friends with several computer repair shops near me. I promise them that anything they give me gets micro scrapped. They give me new old stuff with price stickers still on. I will scrap a $40 board for less than a dollar but that's how I get the stuff. E-waste is second to jewelry for gold recovery. When I finish processing the computers I have I plan to get more into scrap gold jewelry. That will be in several years. Unless I pick up more computers. I have a 5 year supply. But when they call for a pick up I say thank you and I will be there soon.

So much of the equipment we remove from service at data centers is functional. It gets removed because it was obsolete. Of course there are a lot of things like hard drives that break and have to be replaced. What a great haul you have though.

Those 4Tb hard drives are worth good money. Easy to test just get an external drive case and plug it into a laptop/PC and format it

I think I can use this in the future is how scrappers benches look like scrappers benches. I've odds and ends I've saved for a decade still waiting till I need them. Just saying toss it or get a bigger work bench. I did the painfull act of tossing most of the save for later stuff this week. But made a lot more workspace.

They are the old components they put back in the box incase they need a spare. As time passes a new upgrade slot arrives the engeneers get ppms the components they take out go back in box back on shelf in stores. Then they bin the old components.

If u know anyone who fixes electric bikes they would have those batteries from you as generally they are ok to recharge, all my laptop and computer batteries like that go to a guy who does that book add them.

No sister to completely wipe a hard drive you have to write to every sector on the hard drive first after the drive is completely full then you can delete all files important steps then you reformat this stops people like me recovering any data what so ever. It is the only way.
