my best friend is a pilot, or was one. One of his stewardesses thought he smelled of alcohol, and jokingly, asked if he had been drinking or something. it was a funny joke at the time to my understanding, so he just went along with it and continued his flight from my state to Washington. not even an hour after he landed, he was fired because management had suspicions he was under the influence while piloting. he's a private pilot now for some rich guy up in Canada now, but that is just how serious shit like this is. so it's understandable why she did what she did in the story.

What part of "i can't fly after being accused of drinking alcohol" people don't understand ? Flight regulations are very strict for pilots and a small accusation even made as a joke that too loudly infront of others can ruin that pilot's career. Any minor inconvenience that flight and it'll be pinned on pilot regardless of his involvement or put in hiatus due to on going investigation which will affect his career drastically. The pilot is is not the A Hole for "not taking a joke" because it's not a joke.

I had a women in front of me on a 16 hr flight her hair draped over the seat. I was preparing to eat a meal and politely asked her to move her hair . She cussed and shouted. I apologized for her inconvenience and proceeded to fold the table down and eat allowing her hair to get into my mashed potatoes and other side :) her husband laughed in her face it was honestly worth it.

All it takes is for one Karen or ken to overhear a portion of this and throw it wildly out of proportion. He had to do this to protect his livelihood and for y’all calling him out on this tells me your the same Karen/ken who would complain then SUE the pants off the airline.
