Other countries: "Yay I made the list!"
USA: "I am the list."

fun fact: after WW2 italy can’t have aircraft carriers, we overcome this problem calling them “navi a ponte lungo” (long-deck ships)
this is what is called a pro gamer move

So I will note that multiple light aircraft carriers or amphibious assault ships were noted for other nations outside of the US. The US not only has 11 active supercarriers (all of which have an air wing twice the size of the next nation's largest), but also an additional 16 light carriers/amphibious assault ships that carry 25+ aircraft, including the VTOL, F35-Lightning II and Harrier.

I had never seen an aircraft carrier before. Until one night we were driving past NY Harbor and one was anchored there. I was simply blown away how massive it was. It was as tall as a skyscraper.

"The Boeing AV-8B Harrier"
As a Brit, that sentence hurts me.

Actually US Navy has 10 more carriers: 8 LHDs and 2 LHAs, each capable of carrying up to 20-22 f 35Bs....Anyway one of the LHDs (Uss Bonhomme Richard) has been decommissioned last year due to a big fire while was in a naval base...

As a Canadian I wasnt aware of the size of the U.S carrier fleet and the number of aircraft they all can carry, DAMN thats some serious firepower, id be proud if our navy had even a tiny fraction of that strength

I think it would be more accurate to say that HMS Queen Elizabeth was named after the super-dreadnought HMS Queen Elizabeth which was named after QE I.

Unmentioned here, but the Royal Australian Navy has HMASs Canberra and Adelaide, which are based on the design of Spain's 'Juan Carlos[ (which WAS mentioned). They only carry helicopters at present, but do have the "ski-jump' for operating STOVL aircraft.

Wow! This puts US naval power in perspective. The USA has 11 of the 22 total aircraft carriers in operation in the world and all of them are far larger than the other country's carriers.

Besides the Wasp Class and America Class the Japanese have what they call Helicopter Destroyers. The latest are bigger than IJN WW2 carriers and have operated F35 fighters.

If you're consider Spain's assault ship "Juan Carlos I" an aircraft carrier, why not include the world's 29 other assault ships? They all have full length flight decks and conduct aircraft operations.

The HTMS Chakri Naruebet is open for tourists. The ship has no operational fighters left and lacks the funding for maintenance/fuel. It is claimed to leave port once a month and travel under its own power. I genuinely think the Royal Thai Navy should dock her in freshwater (up a river perhaps) and keep the ship in reserve. Sealing off unused compartments, a handful of dehumidifiers, and they will save a ton of money.

U.S.Navy's Wasp-class (40 tons) and America-class (45 tons) should be in this list as they can carry and operate F-35 and Harrier jets, even Helicopters are technically a type of an "AIRcraft", Wasp-class is even heavier than the No. 1 (Chakri Naruebet) and No. 2 (Juan Carlos I) on this list, COMBINED!..

One important distinction in assessing the power of these carriers is that all non-US carriers, except Charles de Gaulle, are STOBAR (or STOVL) which significantly limits their fuel/combat takeoff load.
