Well, I've been voyaging through mostly old noir films this "noirvember", but I think I need a break, and I want to thank my subscriber Pinto Beans for suggesting that I check out the film "Mad Monster Party?" from 1967.
By the way, I'm grateful for any suggestions, comments, feedback, good or bad. I take it all. This channel is just my free exercise in exploring the old films of the past, and helpful feedback just helps me try to do it better. So thank you Pinto Beans for this recommendation! And you all know the deal, please hit like and subscribe, yadda yadda.

So Mad Monster Party - as I started some initial research it really started to get me interested. First of all because it's a Rankin-Bass production, and let's be honest, folks of my age grew up with Rankin-Bass stop motion films like "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" or "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". I'd catch these every Christmas and loved them (but that abominable snowman still creeps me out to this day! Eeeee!) And in discovering that Boris Karloff did voicework for this film, I had to check it out, so here's my review of Mad Monster Party?

When I was really young, probably 4th grade (I'm pushing 60 now) I caught the last bit of this film the Kong part. It awed me. Never saw it again and when older thought it was just a fevered dream. Just think of the kids nowadays that get to watch this magic.

I do like the songs in this film, from the opening theme by Ethel Ennis to the jolt out of reality, "Let's sing, " numbers by Gale Garnett.

Got another recommendation, "Charade." 1963. Cary Grant. Audrey Hepburn. Dir Stanley Donen. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a treat. Don't do a lot of research to spoil the ending. It's G rated.
