You should report him to police....otherwise he will scam other people.

Think about it. If the last guy reported him maybe you would not have been scammed. Same, if you don't report him, he will kept scamming more people.

He probably stole it from a store that had these for display purposes, or worked at the store and they gave it to him.

They use to have these as display units at a store I use to work at... they are made for display.

You are very blessed to be out only $45! If I was you, I would definitely share a photo of the scammer & vehicle description with other computer/cell phone repair business stores around you - I'm sure they would really, really appreciate that.

He didn’t make those they use them as display models at Ikea furniture stores and other places. probably the old broken ones that they threw out !!

When you buy devices for parts. Take 1dy or more for check device.. Give them reciept and tell estimate cost you can pay if following parts in good condition. Tell them return back another day. That how we do.

Should report him to the police. He could easily convince another shop to pay much more for those. Prevent future victims.

Bummer you got scammed but that is pretty hilarious the effort that guy made to make them look legit.

They look like dummy/display models from inside electrical stores or department stores. I think idea also have fake tablets and laptops for display

Funny thing is, you tried scamming him. £10 each? Then £5 each for another three lol. Hunter got hunted!.

This is a prime example of you get what you pay for.

You should have reported him man. Now he will scam more innocent people.

It's possible that those tablets were from store displays. I know most places will have a functional device with a cable attached, but some do put up things like that just so a user can simply get a feel for the size and weight

In the UK, when you go in a store where they sell such devices, they use dummies as display models, in case they're stolen and the working models are kept elsewhere behind the counter. These dummies, he may have bought from a store which had gone out of business, and didn't do the work on them himself.

That is crazy never seen anything like this before. He probably repairs these to have all the parts to do this. Hope you have him on camera in your shop

First, thanks for sharing! Nobody likes to admit they got scammed. Yes you're out $45 but you get to post a video that is at worst, entertaining, and at best, a great warning and education for us. That said, seems like the scammer did a lot of work for only $45. My time is certainly worth more than that. And lastly, I have mixed feelings about you not reporting him. Yes, you don't want to ruin his life for $45, I commend that. But.... he may be doing worse to other people. Something to think about. Love your videos, thanks for sharing them! Edit: Didn't realize how old this video is.

I have a lot of respect for you, by watching your videos. This just proves even you can be scammed. The thing is this person went through all that trouble for only ten bucks! Maybe he did it for the rush that he could and did scam you? Well, you taught us all a lesson. Thanks.
