Pedometers that aren't connected to a GPS need some mechanism to determine if the user is actually walking or just shifting in a chair or riding in a bumpy car. Our Pedometers use False Start monitors to accomplish this task.

The SC2 Pedometer will only begin counting steps once 15 consecutive steps are taken and will begin the count at 16,17,18 and so on.

One way to look at things is not all steps are created equal and walking briskly vs. walking around your house or office are two different activities with different benefits. Most of us have already realized any benefits from the steps we take during our daily routine.

It all comes down to what you want tracked - Every step you take or steps that you are making a concentrated effort to add into your daily routine.
