UPDATE: ODYSSY OF THE SEAS SAILINGS CANCELED FROM JUNE TO OCTOBER! I was set to sail late June from Rome. They are only sailing in Israel with their residents 🥺

I’m a bit worried... I don’t know what other countries will do in the future, but in the Netherlands it isn’t possible to get a vaccine for kids under 18. So I hope this changes, otherwise we cannot cruise as a family. This idea makes me very sad.

Does anyone know the answer I am booked on a cruise from Southampton with 2 Turkish friends for 10 days. If they are NOT granted UK transit visas can they get on the ship at the next port ie Tunisia? Its in the autumn/fall for 10 days and our final port is Genoa. (We will all have Schengen visas.)

This is great news. I know a lot of people are wary about the vaccine, but it’s still a huge step forward. I think it would be very naive of people to expect things to get back to normal as quick as a few months. But positive news is always welcome.

Making vaccines will help the industry and keep safe the places we visit. This is good news. I don’t want to be on a boat with a lot of crazy anti vaccination people. Safety first.

Israel is almost fully vaccinated so no surprise

Yes, the short answer is that vaccinations will be required for all cruise lines. As countries roll out the vaccine and it becomes very widely available, such as in Israel, then the lines will require the vaccines to sail. As we get into late Fall and the 4Q this year, more and more countries will also require that all on a cruise ship be vaccinated to call on the ports in that country. This is really good news for cruising in general, although it will delay many cruises until late this year, unfortunately.
