Fishman tripleplay Express MIDI guitar pickup review

Are you a guitar player who wants some flexibility with your playing but always thought MIDI pickups were slow, unreliable, or expensive?

I take a look at the Tripleplay Express from @Fishman_Music and find that now, MIDI guitar pickups, with a few caveats, are a quite usable and effective way to may your music more creative.

This video features an unboxing, how to attach it to a guitar (a squier mustang in this case) and options for using the pickup with a DAW (ableton live in this case), and using the tripleplay software.

How would you rate the responsiveness / latency? And how about playing fast passages using legato, for example? Does it ever drop notes?

Hey! I've been looking at a midi pickup and synth pedal for a while, but I'm not sure if my T style guitar will work with the pickup. Everyone i see installs the pickup at the bridge, and with the tele saddle i cant. Would i be able to place it anywhere else?

Have you tried the software Jam origin Midi guitar? they are both priced the same (around 150 euro-ish), and I'm wondering which solution is better at tracking

Thanks for the video. Im using this through my ipad with a powered dock and into my interface and it works great. Any idea how i would run it live without carrying my laptop or interface? Ive tried a few adapters to split into my new ipad pro so i could run a line out but no dice. Not a deal breaker but would be cool to use it live without carrying my interface or laptop

Ever since I learned I could convert Audio to Midi, I've abused it when writing lead parts with my guitar. Obviously, it has its limitations and now I am looking into this for myself! Thanks for the video, really helps with making a decision.

I bought a Fishman Triple Play to convert my guitar to a MIDI device to control a KETRON SD-90. I think the Fishman company and the device is a complete scam. They don't answer their phone. It's just a recorded message. They say that they'll get back to you in a couple of days. They haven't gotten back to me in a couple of weeks. The Fishman Triple Play doesn't send the correct signals to my Ketron SD-90. I have adjusted the sensitivity until I'm blue in the face to no avail.
Please Do another video when you learn more about the device.
