Bug with the macro keys, ive had a friend told me that his corsair keyboard did the same thing, but he also told me that it was wierd that its his marco keys in his mmorpg's that are getting typed. Lol that explains it, and i never thought it would escalate to this, time to share this video to him to spook him out lol.

BRO UFD you have just saved me. I have been wondering for WEEKS why my keyboard would just be typing all random junk and even sometimes my passwords. I got the K100 and Was looking it up non stop. You are literally a life saver. Let me know if there is a update that they are going to have that will fix this glaring issue

That's terrifying tbh. Would be more scared than worried I'm being key logged

"It's not a keylogger, it's just an unannounced macro that turns itself on and logs all your keypresses".

Oh ok

"Oh no. We accidentally logged every bit of information you have typed. See, it was an accident. We put a logging feature for the funny 🤣. We didn't mean to use it"

This is 200% true, I have a k100 keyboard and it randomly decided to start typing things i literally typed to my supervisor a few days prior, really creepy

i have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Users could be accidentally triggering a macro keybind, then triggering the macro by accident. If there's an exact pause that matches your keystroke, its a macro that records your keystrokes, and plays them exactly the way you typed it, similar to my razer blackwidow's macro function. If a keyboard uses a specific keystroke to trigger macro recording, it can be easy to trigger accidentally.
It could also just be a bug that sets macros and plays them. iCue can be kind of buggy at times.

Razer had the same problem on a few of their older keyboards and it’s why they no longer include the shortcut key to begin recording macros and then the same button prompted you to choose a button to bind it to.

You would accidentally hit the button and be recording a macro for 5 minutes and accidentally bind it to A with As originally functionality.

The real problem would be when you would accidentally bind over the unbind key because macros made on the fly with the programmed button were mapped differently and not visible in the razer app.

Essentially in short you could brick your razer keyboard with its own functionality.
You were start typing or something and set of 23 5 minute long strings of macros of you typing or playing games and pure chaos would ensue.

Here's hoping they update the software and fix it, cause I've had mine just randomly start typing the letter I and I couldn't stop it unless I unplugged it.

This bug is due to corsair's keyboards having a software bug.

the bug causes the keyboard to randomly activate the macro memorization function, and sometime later, randomly activate the macro execution function.

corsair has addressed this issue, and has fixed it for the most part with a software update, but they weren't able to figure out why is happened

$200 that accidentally stores and replays your inputs vs $5 HP keyboard that physically can't

Its a macro key bug, keyloggers don’t retype anything, they record previously type keys and store them in a visible text format. Its similar in fashion to something like stick drag on controllers, where it gives the controller inputs on the stick when it shouldn’t be giving any inputs, but instead of a mechanical issue, its a software issue.

my exact thought when you said what happened.

Its clearly triggering the built in feature to record macros and redo them.

Anyone who owns a $200 gaming keyboard, and has that happen, should instantly assume thats what is happening. Not keylogging. Its obvious

When I heard what was happening, I immediately thought it was a macro system they have.
