When that movie came out, it was still canon for them to be actually good shots. They only missed main characters because of plot, obviously. They were only turned into a joke more recently.

Obi-Wan said precise. Not Accurate. They are two completely different things. Precision is hitting the same place consistently, whether it’s close to the Target or not. Accuracy is how close you are to the Target.
