Germany's Merkel stresses EU loss of US and UK as reliable allies

For the second time in two days, German Chancellor Angela Merkel reiterated how Europe can no longer rely on its traditional allies - the US and the UK.

The chancellor has been unusually candid about her views since G7 and NATO summits were held last week - where US President Donald Trump ruffled many feathers of his European allies over a range of issues.

yep great, useing a past USA presidents remarks from the passed, that has nothing to do with the real issue, is this a nato country that has not paid? to me it is sad, and sick when countries can't work together because a country in nato did not paid into nato. I am born and raised and live in the USA, nato is messed up. they have caused so many military people's deaths with there rules/laws, also many military people sent to prison for the same.

So Trump obviously wants to leave NATO which is no surprise after his statements about it. But i wonder what will happen to all those military bases here in Europe that the US has established over the years? I wouldn't mind if the people of those military bases would stay here if the can and choose to but i certainly would have a problem if those military bases remain open and in command without the US being a part of the NATO.

Maybe Merkle will pay for its own military defense, and the US can stop paying to defend Germany. All those military base paychecks would be better spent inside the USA.

Ezekiel paints the picture of the alliance hostile to Israel that will form the invading force along with Russia:

“Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.” (Ezekiel 38:2–6)

In this alliance, Gomer and his bands are mentioned. According to the historians, Edward Wells writing in 1708:

“… the colonies, which coming from the nation of Gomer, in process of time spread themselves further and further, and settled themselves in several parts of Europe… This colony of the Cimmerii increasing in process of time, and so spreading themselves still by new colonies further westward, came along the Danube, and settled themselves in the country, which from them has been called Germany….

So historians identify Gomer of the Ezekiel with the Gauls of France and with the Germans. Ezekiel states that these nations will be with Russia (Rosh) at the time of the end in their invasion of Israel.
