Maiden Wine by Leonard Nimoy

Показать описание
This is my arrangement of Leonard Nimoy's song, 'Maiden Wine'.
The song was written by Nimoy, and used in an episode of Star Trek. I don't know if Nimoy had had previously written the song and allowed to use it in the show, or if he wrote the song specifically for use in the episode. Perhaps some true Trekkies can elaborate.
'Maiden Wine' was included in one of his albums, The Touch of Leonard Nimoy, in 1969.
I always liked the song. I remember hearing it in the episode, Plato's Stepchildren. I though it was a traditional song like 'Greensleeves' or 'Scarborough Fair', but I learned much later that it was an original Nimoy composition.
Incidentally, I had not particularly liked the Plato's Stepchildren episode...and this was mainly because of Spock. I wanted Spock to be tougher and put up more of a challenge for the Platonians because Spock was supposed to be stronger than humans---especially mentally. But Spock was not able to resist any more than the other Enterprise crew.
Still, I did like the song Spock sang. So, I hope I did it justice with my arrangement (the closing lyrics are my addition as a tribute to Leonard Nimoy and his Spock character).
