I work for the postal service, they're always telling us to slow down and drive carefully then in the next sentence they'll tell us our delivery times are too slow and we need to pick up the pace. They are known for corralling individual post officers into high pressure "consultations" where it's 4 of them and 1 of you as they demand to know your "excuses" for not meeting insane delivery targets, but first day the union reps all told me if they get me in there just keep giving the same response of: "I deliver using the methods YOU instructed me are safest. Are you telling me to be unsafe?"

Absolutely. And I would use this situation to ask why our rail infrastructure is so under par when we have so much wealth. China and the EU don't seem to have a problem investing in railroads.

The classic maneuver run the business assets into the ground, then dump the bills on whatever poor sucker — takes on running the railroads, a must-have national service that you just squeeze milking profits until the rail system breaks down

Very true. The government isn't even investing money into MAINTENANCE on military base railroads. even tho thats how a lot recieve or ship a majority of their items. They are more than willing to do the bare minimum until something bad happens & god forbid something does happen they will blame the contractors that tried warning them beforehand
