If u are just starting and don't want a headache use docker swarm. U can switch to k8s later when u have that much load

Docker & Kubernetes just means you need dedicated devops members on your team. Maybe good for super large projects, but I can't see the use anywhere else

The industry really needed a standardized set of tooling for doing basic ops like, rolling-restart of a fleet of virts. K8s filled that gap, and has thus risen to popularity.. But I would not say, it has reduced complexity of devops.

It’s not that easy when your nodes on different networks. Infact it is not even possible to setup kubernetes in such architecture. All nodes have to be on same network. I can’t have a node on aws and the other one on gcp

Better learn wasm because kubernetes will be obsolete soon as economically it’s not viable. Our job as software engineers is not always the shining stuff, sometimes you just have to deliver, so why relying on technologies that in appearance simplify things while in reality get in the way for most of the use-cases.
Kubernetes is great but not necessary for most enterprise use-cases.
