Kinda off topic, but I have a laptop with an 'ATI radeon 5650 hd' GPU, after going to the web, there was only 5000 series, so I installed an unofficial 5650 HD driver, it worked but now at random time, the PC stops works and sound glitches. Pls help

Please add a tutorial about stopping the cancerous windows update from reinstalling older drivers whenever it sees fit. WU, on both W10 and 11, and especially on laptops, more often than not rolls back the drivers to the version it has in the Microsoft Update Catalog. On AMD APUs it happenes so fast that at the next reboot you have your older driver reinstalled.

I had the Radeon Software installed on my system, and it caused a weird issue. XFX Radeon 5700 on Asus Crosshair VII Hero (non wifi). I was eventually getting a "d3" code readout on my motherboard, rather than the "AA" ("AA" means everything is ok). I uninstalled the Radeon Software because the update wouldn't go through. So I figured I would install the updated version manually. Ended up not being able to install the latest version because it would bluescreen and restart. So I figured I wouldn't install the software. Then I started getting random blue screens with the error code "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" Luckily I have a spare drive that I can use to backup some things, because I have tried numerous "fixes" but to no avail. I believe a wipe and reinstall is the only option at this point, because I do not have any Restore Points (like a n00b). Oh well, most of my important files are already on a second drive already, I just need to grab a few game files, and I'm ready to go.

i updated mine to the 522 version rereleased a few days ago and i haven't seen any improvements in performance if anything I've started having more issues since updating i was getting a stable 240fps in Fortnite and now getting massive fps drops down to 60 in some parts of the map and getting a lot of stutters so i went back to the 517 which i was using didn't have many issues with but since switching back im having the same issue just not as often when i wasn't having any issues on 517 till i updated then switched back which is kind of annoying as this is my first pc and i dont have any idea how to imrpove it again and get everything super stable again cause with the new windows 22h2 and these drivers updates im getting less performance rather then increased performance. is there any way to fix these issues with out doing the ddu method as im a bit worried i will somehow mess that up as i wanna try fix everything before the new cod relezase as i will be playing that alot when it comes out but if my fps is unstable on fortnite performance mode im worried my fps on mw2 will be worse then what it wss in the beta before i done any gpu or windows updates

What they dont say is that it may increase performance in some games but in others it could drop your average fps by 40!! Happened to rdr2 when i updated mine!! I was getting 80fps on ultra and now im getting 40… yeah i had to factory reset my shit after because rolling back didn’t fix it!!!
