Use the round brush to smooth out the hair then go ahead and use the barrels.

Hey for anyone watching this, if you got big frizzy wavy/curly hair, you should blow dry it straight with the brush attachment first and then use the barrels to finally curl it. otherwise your curls will be frizzy. Also don't be afraid to lightly touch the barrel to make sure the temp is hot to the touch, confirm that your hair has heated up to the right temp and then release. Then apply a serum and what I like to do is spray some flexible hold hairspray to hold everything longer and prevent frizz!! But make sure you put on heat protectant at the very beginning!!
