In this video we do a walkaround of the car, we check the frunk, the trunk and the maximum cargo space. After that we take a look at the interior, the infotainment and sound system. Also we go OFFROAD, because this is the AWD version of the bZ4X, testing all X-Mode settings.

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X is built on the same e-TNGA platform as the Subaru Solterra.

The Toyota bZ4X AWD range is 470 km, according to WLTP. I got a real range of 350 km with a mixed use. When doing more highway kilometers, the range dropped to 270 km.

My average consumption was 20.5 kWh / 100 km, with some offroad, some urban and some highway driving. With more highway miles, average consumption went up to 22.5 kWh / 100 km.

The Toyota bZ4X has an interior in black SoftEx, our car is painted in Elemental Silver Metallic.

A lot of competitors in this EV segment: the Polestar 3, Volkswagen ID.4, Ford Mustang Mach E and the Tesla Model Y, to name a few.

We had 2 major software updates this summer in the Netherlands, now a real world range of 450km, for the Solterra with awd, 350km. Far more efficient EV motors, far better charging and still 10 years warranty. They had namy other issues fixed.

It was tested against the VW Id4, the Bz4x was the far better car, considering the small battery pack, a very good range of 450km. Buikd quality far better than the Id4 as well.

The Solterra was tested in awd, dual motors, against Audi's Etron q4, the Solterra was winner....far more comfort, far better quality, efficient motors and 350km real world range.

So you went 85mph (137kmh). Is that a legal speed in the states? The UK has a max of 70mph. I usually watch videos with some audible dialogue, but I have to say that these videos are certainly to the point with no waffle. Lots of info, which some youtubers would leave out. Well-made videos.

The charging and range for this car is way over stated. I only get 42kw max when fast charging.

1. I think the "Ora (Funky) Cat" is sold in the UK, at least Fully Charged tested it a while ago. It looks...well...peculiar, but is yet another well (enough) built, affordable smaller EV from China, so that's something. We're gonna see many, many more of those in the coming years for sure.

2. From what I have heard/read, Toyota hated, HATED EVs with a passion and had been on the forefront of anti-EV-propaganda for years, doing everything in their power to slow down the movement. As such it does not surprise me to see such a half-hearted attempt after years of neglect. And this even though Toyota used to be an important player for decades, great value cars for the whole world, not to mention their fantastic offerings regarding the bridge technology of hybrid drive trains. Hopefully it is true what the news say and the new leadership will bring positive change to the #1 car maker in the world - the EV revolution could really use their support! 🤞🏻
