Flight of the Intruder 1991
U.S. Navy pilot Lt. Jake Grafton (Brad Johnson) and his bombardier buddy, Lt. Cmdr. Virgil Cole (Willem Dafoe), are two soldiers embedded in the Vietnam War growing frustrated by the military's constraints on their missions. Despite the best efforts of their commanding officer, Cmdr. Frank Camparelli (Danny Glover), to re-engage them, this disillusioned pair decide to take the war effort into their own hands with an explosive battle plan that could well get them court-martialed.

“Flight of the Intruder” was a great movie. Tragic ending, but that is what defined the Vietnam War. I was lucky enough to serve onboard the Nimitz in the late 80’s when they still flew A-6’s and A-7’s. Thank you for this clip.

Flight of the Intruder is an unfairly underrated aviation action movie, but it's a hard-boiled masterpiece that I love so much, depicting the lives and oath of respect and brotherhood of the men who are Intruder drivers of the VA-196 Attack Squadron.

I rented this flick so many times, the video rental just gave it to me.
I wore it out. The 'SAM' evasion game must have been a real pucker upper, learning how not to get hit. But then, hunting 'SAMS' as a job !? True bravery.

As an 80s kid I much preferred this movie over Top Gun. I love Danny Glover and Willem Dafoe in it.

I read the book just after the US Naval Institute releast the book. The movie was but, the book was great! It was a great introduction into the world of a carrier based bomber.
