Exactly the same when I brought my wife to the driving range and taught her how to play golf and after the lesson she said, "ang hirap pala, definitely not for me, " LOL. But they enjoyed though when I bought them their own set of golf clubs and we played on the actual golf course with my two kids (Girl 15 & Boy 9 years old).
Golf is definitely a great game and to do exercise, just a bit expensive, although marami namang murang golf courses out there.
