Are the full size snap ships compatible? Like all of them?

I'm excited for this game, I backed and have put all the ships together but have not yet played or read the rules. One thing I'm nervous about is if it will capture the same dog fight feeling of trying to out think and out maneuver your opponent that I love so much in X-Wing.

The only thing that interests me about this is the modular ship building, and that's the one stand out feature of this game, and you don't even show us a single moment of the parts, how they go together, or any of the building of them. 35 pages in a rulebook for a game that has a buildable toy ship seems insane to me as well, that's like requiring a certification in order to play with LEGOs
