Is this the best curved treadmill you can buy? Motorless treadmills are expensive pieces of equipment but at what point does the added cost stop adding value?

In this video we take a look at these non-motorized curved treadmills which are much simpler than their motorized counterparts with no motors, less electronics, and less features but why are they also more expensive?

Anyone else notice the irony of taking a treadmill outside to run? 😂

I agree on most of, if not all your points. However I’m convinced mine doesn’t get used bc I’m a below ground runner.

It's always exciting to get notified that Gluck's Gym has a new review. I watched the entire review even though I have no intention of ever buying a treadmill. I just came for the sight gags and self-deprecating humor. Great job!

Incline walking is what we like to do on our treadmill, I can't see ever getting used to a motor less. Another solid review, as always, honest and entertaining, THANKS!

Hates running but did track back in the day, You are a complicated man my friend. Great review I hope you get more stuff from them.

The learning curve is definitely something to consider. I have a TrueForm and it took me a while. A long while... The expense was a motivating factor in overcoming that learning curve.

I prefer the motorless treadmills because I like to regulate my own pace and use an app for cardio training. It also seems like a lot of treadmills are glorified waterbottle holders (never a good sign when "waterbottle holders" are mentioned as equipment features).

I appreciate all the demonstrations as you described each point, including the funny ones.

Well I have this treadmil and it’s cool and all, no complaints at all. I normally run backwards with a resistance band attached to a 130lb kettlebell . I like the ease of this machine and enjoy the energy saving on it.

So I’m paying 4K for a thick rubber belt, some ball bearings, and a plastic housing? Production cost prob $200 to make. 😂 those margins!

It took me a while to get used to, but don't see myself using conventional treadmill anytime soon. Curved ground mimics natural running - you actually push, lift and jump for your next step, as opposed to just jumping/walking on one spot. It involves so much more muscle even in your upper core. What I actually prefer is to used it barefoot. It lets me control the pace and body posture: my knees are more curved when I'm running, my body is leaning closer to the ground. Why is it important and why I never noticed the importance on a regular treadmill? Joint pain. When you're running on one spot, your whole entire body and legs are more or less straight - putting or ligaments, muscles and joints in a strained mode. With curved treadmill - you follow your body maintains the safest anatomic movement it can. Because you can't run like crazy until you're used to - you won't be breathless either and can go for longer. Definitely would consider getting shoes that fit for this type of machine, which are not your traditional ultrathick and cushioned shoes. You need to be able to feel the ground.

Great review. Bonus points for your self deprecating sense of humor. I dig it.

And how about you get off you high horse about being a track star. This is your first video I’ve seen, and I’ve heard you talk about it at least 10 times already.

I have the Assault Runner Pro and love that thing. I hate running in my basement, and really don't have a way to easily roll it in and out to get some sun while running, but it's much better than me running on the side of the road and having to doge cars, dogs, and the occasional black bear out here where I live. I don't like running on it more than a mile, but love to run on it in intervals. I'm into Boxing so I'll run 400m, then hit the heavy bag for 3min, then jump rope 3min, then double-end bag for 3min, then assult bike for 3min, then back onto the runner...this simulates 3min boxing rounds and has gotten me good results. I would tell folks to wait until black friday or new years to buy one as they offer a bike for free if you buy a treadmill...I bought it and then sold off the bike, so I essentially purchased the runner for like 2200.

Thinking $500 to make one, $500 shipping and the rest goes to recovering the cost of the ones given away. Merry Christmas

An advantage is that one does not need to locate a motorless treadmill near a power outlet or have cords running across the gym floor.

If I get a treadmill for my home gym this would be my choice….currently content with my concept rower and stationary bike for cardio duties.
