The handle of a Canary Island Knife (cuchillo canario) #shorts
This is a beautiful cuchillo canario made by Javier Suárez. He learned his craft from Maestro Ramón García when he was staying in Gran Canaria. The blade is forged from high-carbon steel and left in unpolished state as many originals were. You can still see the hammering marks on the blade. The back of the blade close to the forte bears the smith's mark. The handle is made of many sections of copper, brass, nickel, white horn, and black horn making a magnificent tight pattern typical of knives from Canary Islands. The blade is very sharp and is suitable for farming, cooking, or camping. Although given its quality, this knife is definitely a collector item. The scabbard is made of leather. A work of art. Handled some in the knife fair, where they even showed it in the making. Impressive process.
