I just came back from Ukraine. My sixth trip to help Ukraine since the war started. This last trip was about a month. One gullible Ukrainian who I talked to, e.g. a 25 year old man, believed trump would end the war in 24 hours. He really wanted the war to end because since he is 25 years old, and he is someone who is eligible to join the army whether he likes it or not. He was a strong young man, a professional football player from what he said, and he had the muscles to prove it. Most everyone I spoke too did not believe trump would end the war in 24 hours. One man whose mother gave russian soldiers the finger as they rolled in to Kherson in March of 2022, (since then, they fled long ago to the other side of the Dnieper River) said it was all a show, i.e. trump's talking about his views and his plans. This same man helps as a volunteer to teach children to stay away for unexploded munitions, including mines and help civilians with their needs. They also clear minefields on farmland. These people have gone through such tragic circumstances. And trump is starting to play with their lives. My view is trump will get distracted with other things he likes more; trump will realize the war is too difficult and boring to worry about, and he will lie over and over on whatever it takes not to take the blame for his broken promises. I wish that I could be mistaken.
