The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program provides seed money to domestic start-ups and small businesses so they can develop new and advanced technologies across a wide array of industries. OIG has found instances of fraud and waste in HHS’s SBIR program. In this edition of Eye on Oversight, Operations Officer Francis Montoya describes two fraud cases involving millions in SBIR grant funds being diverted for personal use.
