Beats Solo3 Ear pad replacement (How to)

In this video we explain how to replace the ear pads of the Beats headphones Solo 3.
The process is pretty simple and can be completed in under 20 minutes.
First re remove the original eardads, which are glued to the ear cups. Use a flat blade screwdriver or a butterknife to do this. Carefully squeeze and wiggle into the glue, which holds the ear pads in position.
Next we have to remove the leftover glue and residue from the ear cup. Use some rubbing alcohol to remove the majority of it.
When installing the new ear pads, make sure to first identify which ear pad goes on which side! The ear pad for the right ear cup has a little cutout on the bottom, which is for the USB port.
Also practice to hit the two small plastic pins on the ear cup with the two holes located on the new ear pads.
Now remove the backing paper on the earned, line the ear pad up with the ear cup and firmly press it on.
Now repeat the process with the second ear cup and we are already done!

Even though i use these as a back up pair now (replaced with Sony WH-1000XM) I had to replace the ear pads. The sound is nowhere as good as the Sonys but ok for temporary use. Thanks for the video, easy replace!

The “scraper” is also meant to remove the damaged pads so you don’t damage the headphones.

I just got these for a birthday present & I couldn’t be more disappointed. The sound is very disappointing. The ear pads are too tight for grown man ears. Very sad.
