The fact that they used prosthetics is something I happily applaud! Too many times it's CGI only for creatures. But a perfect mix from CGI and practical FX/prosthetics brings an authentic feel that can't be replicated with just CGI.

Barry Gower is the person who has done so much good Prosthetic work. All the great tv shows we love he has probably worked on them. Game of thrones to now. Excellent job he does. I never played the games and usually I wait till a season is over so I can binge it. But the last of us I tuned in every week so so good. Cant wait for S2

The first scene with the clicker in the museum gives me chills every single time I watch it, because of how perfectly they recreated the essence of the game. The way you feel watching that scene is exactly how you feel when you're playing it. The silence, the sneaking around, Joel reloading with the clicker around the corner (this shot specifically was so spot on) and the way the infected move, the sounds, even the way Ellie is hiding. Neil Druckmann was so real for saying he gets emotional watching it because there's something so beautiful and moving about how it does the game justice and then some.

Druckmann's a genius. He's one of the few in the gaming industry you could genuinely call an auteur.

Now, Druckman may be amazing, but let’s not discount the colossal rise of Craig Mazin! He went from writing Scary Movie 3, 4 (funny movies I still think) to creating the breathtaking Chernobyl, and co-creating an adaptation no one thought possible. Now that is also genius!!

2:50 THAT ENTIRE SECTION WAS CGI???? I only believed that part of the clickers was CGI models mixed with real actors, but the entire set being CGI.. bruh.. Shows how well and efficiently the budget was spent.

It looked amazing. I've played the game countless times and this show totally did it justice, especially with the infected. And I am so glad you guys included the Bloater. It was something my wife and I talked a lot about beforehand because we were really hoping to see one, and then we did and it looked incredible. The only thing I will nitpick to say I really missed was the bridge moment from the game. But again, nitpicking. Great job to all who were involved.
