it have turbo ... i have the model 1.0 ecoboost and it have 125hp. It's amazing what a car like this can do on the road.

My car a 2.5st focus will do a slice over 150 153ish. Thats in 6 gear. Fifth gear tops out at 130mph its upto 6 gear to pull upto too speed so yes 6 is for cruiseing in a sense but in order to get up 150 you would have to take 5th upto last knotches in of turbo band. Not max rpm.. however driving at 70mph in 6 gear can easily overtake without haveing to change down. Surf the turbo band makes easy progress

is the Golf conciderably more powerful than the Focus 1.6 with 180hp or is it negligible, the new 1.5l 3 cylinder ecoboost engine Ford developed with 177 cv is said 2 b more powerful than the current 1.6l 180vc engine because of a new turbo that spools quickly than the 1.6s turbo and the 3cylinder free revving nature as well as light weight adds up to its performance and i really wud like 2 c the 1.5l 3 cylinder ecoboost inside Focus instead of the 1st generation 1.6 ecoboost

Salut. Consumul e undeva pe la 7 la drum lung, 10 in oras, 8 pe autostrada. Dieselul scoate cu 1-2 litri mai putin la viteze de autostrada, in rest e similar. Daca te intereseaza strict consumul probabil diesel e alegerea potrivit pt tine.

No. In any car (or at least most cars) you can only reach the top speed in the second to last gear. So for the 6 speed gearbox you should reach maximum speed in 5th gear. Last gear is for cruising only.

Personally i haven't driven the golf with that engine, but from what i hear the 160 is pretty much the same as the 150 focus. It is powerful even under 2000. From 1600 the turbo really kicks in. About the economy, i cannot give you numbers, but what i can say is that is very economic when driven lightly, and it is very consuming when driven hard. The difference really is pretty big.
Personally, if i would have a choice to buy a new car now, i would buy the 180 focus without blinking

Hii christian, great car, have u driven a VW golf 1.4 tsi with 140 bhp or the 160 bhp, if u have which is a better choice, plannin to buy a new car, drove the Golf, very powerful even below 2000 rpm, so how does the Focus do below 2000 rpm and hows economy when driven mildly and when driven hard?

is a bit quicker than the ford

Da, ma rog, eu ma refeream mai jos la viteze. la 4, 5 deja nu mai prea conteaza sa ajungi pe rosu pentru ca oricum nu are mare suflu in treapta respectiva.

Something else I noticed with these, No passengers it pulls ok, just one passenger you notice quite a difference in acceleration . Even so much as a full tank of fuel slows it down. And up hill motorway shows its weakness too. And there not greatly economical

Problems is golf gt 160 would whip this, but I've read so many bad thing s about premature bore wear, the supercharger breaking down, drinking lots of oil, the tyres get eaten on the rear, so it's rather off putting to buy the golf, but the ecoboost doesn't excite me, I've test driven a titanium 150 and the ZS 182' and even the focus tdci 163, out the lot I liked the diesel it was a right little raver..
Problem with that is its not euro 6 so in gab we gonna get shafted for that, .the engine note on these Eco boosts is awful, it sounds like it's bogged down just one constant engine note all through the Rev range it's so un satisfying, it depends what you are used to driving really, , if you're used too a 1.6 zetec/ duratech focus then this would be a quick,
