In this video, we will discuss the structure and organization of a standard paragraph, as well as the importance of the topic sentence. After the video, students will have an understanding of paragraph structure and be able to write a strong topic sentence.

A paragraph must have 3 parts:
1. Topic Sentence - It gives the main idea of the paragraph.
2. Supporting Sentences - It develops the main idea by giving examples and explanations.
3. Concluding Sentences - It gives closure to the paragraph.

Example of a good topic sentence: Taking too many university courses at once can have serious consequences.
- The topic sentence has a clear topic and a main idea.

Traits of a good topic sentence:
1. It must not be too specific (e.g. a fact or evidence).
2. It must not be too broad. The sentence must have a main idea.
3. Topic must not be annouced. Instead, state your opinion or the main idea.
