8. Wald und Klima | 'Our House is Still on fire'

Der achte Vortrag unserer zweiten Ringvorlesung "Our house is still on fire - Das 1x2 der Klimakrise und warum es uns alle braucht" im Wintersemester 2021/2022 an der Universität Hamburg.

In der heutigen Vorlesung geht es um die Rolle des Waldes in der Klimakrise. Wie steht es um unsere Wälder? Welche Unterschiede gibt es zwischen tropischen und europäischen Wäldern? Was haben wir für Perspektiven?
Unser Referent zu diesem Thema ist Prof. Dr. Michael Köhl. Er ist Professor für Weltforstwirtschaft an der Universität Hamburg und als Berater bei den Vereinten Nationen tätig. Eines seiner Kernthemen ist die nachhaltige Forstwirtschaft.

Today's lecture is about the role of forests in the climate crisis. How are our forests doing? What are the differences between tropical and European forests? What kind of perspectives do we have?
Our speaker on this topic is Prof. Dr. Michael Köhl. He is a professor for World Forestry at the University of Hamburg and a consultant at the United Nations. One of his core topics is sustainable forestry.
