Hart House Chamber Strings

The Hart House Chamber Strings is a student-run ensemble conducted by Keith Reid. We perform two concerts each year in the Fall and Winter. Our members include students and alumni from various programs and departments at the University of Toronto who all share a love for music. This is a non-audition ensemble; there is an annual open rehearsal in mid-September, where interested players are welcome to come out with their instrument.

Rehearsals take place on Monday nights from 7:30–10 pm. We currently have about forty members, more than most chamber groups, which enables us to occasionally divert from the realm of “standard” chamber music and take on an eclectic repertoire. Like all Hart House clubs, membership is open to all. Check out our website to see our repertoire of everything from Baroque to contemporary music!
