It's finally here, the OpenTheremin, open source arduino based Theremin has MIDI code. Community member Vincent Dhamelincourt contributed a great code that implements MIDI on all OpenTheremin V3. It plays as serial midi, USB HID midi or even through a MIDI DIN connector. For more details and code, see here:

Brilliant work! I got it working with a MIDI cable and have controlled hardware and software synths. I am having a few issues with calibration though. Most of the time calibration doesn't end unless I go near the Theremin. Also the midi notes are not chromatic as I would have expected, once it is calibrated. Depending on how I approach the pitch antenna (or even random) it seems to switch "scale" and it is not possible to play every individual note in the chromatic scale . Any ideas?

hey, i wonder how it compares to the etherwave from moog, i know it is digital and not analog, but in the real world what do you think of both ?
i want to offer it as a present and i'm not really sure which i should get.

I have problem with the MIDI-signal.It only sends volume and not pitch. Is there a step-by-step manual somewhere or anyone who can help me with this?
