If you don't follow women's golf, you might not know Nelly Korda, but you should study her swing. I think it's one of the best in golf

I give her too 3 tbh. It looks soooo smooth!!! Almost like a Steph curry 3point shot. It just looks like it’s going in. My top favorite female golfer!!! 💪🏾

One of my most humbling moments was when I saw a Women’s Collegate tournament at a local course, where we got to walk alongside them on the course and talk to them.
These ladies were SO good and I watched these women out drive me all day.

I agree it is one of the best swings I’ve seen (Korean women are also pretty amazing) but her shoulders are not level at the point you say and if you view her swing from behind her the important role side bending of the spine starts to play as the shoulders come back parallel. That is the point where gravity acting on the mass in the arms causing the lead arm to start accelerating faster than the shoulder turn. What side bending does is change the angle of the aim as it flies off and its force vector.

Without side bend action — e.g., a typical recreational golfer’s swing — the lead arm mass whips around the feet causing the trail arm to bend at the elbow instead of the force pulling it straight until the club cocks at the wrists. That creates a loss of balance in the finish.

Side bending keeps the trail shoulder back and causes the mass if the lead arm to swing more at the target with the mass of the trail arm then moving in the same direction providing more time for the club head the accelerating arms drag, until the club head whips around the hands, pulling the club head in a shallower arc vertically and relative to the ball-target line, pulling the trail arm straight and levering the lead arm elbow down, mirroring the action in the backswing and resulting in the club head staying on a well balanced path automatically due to how the Vardon grip + side bending causes the arms to fold predictably.

Body proportions (leg vs torso) affect how much a golfer can side bend and how it affects the release of arms and club path. I have a very long torso and correspondingly short legs for my 5’10” height helps my swing a lot both in power and accuracy at age 71. I just wish someone had taught me the technique is started in my 30s. Instead I was told to swing like I was standing in a barrel 😂

I prefer to watch the women in the LPGA versus the men in the PGA. They are smooth and graceful. They seem to swing without effort.

Legitimate ask: Her arms on the downswing, prior to impact, she starts almost a chicken wing motion with her lead arm. She is perfectly extended at impact, but wouldn't that get inconsistent at times or is that the correct motion?

The one thing I notice a lot is many players don’t actually keep their lead arm that straight in the downswing. It usually bends a bit, and yes sometimes it straightens again through the ball but it doesn’t seem like they all have this locked straight lead arm like maybe you’d be taught in typical golf instruction

The most perfect and ideal golf swing was from Monica Ochoa, if you're such familiar of her in the early 2000? She retire because there seems not many girls tournament sponsor due her time she beat Sorenstam and everyone else during those years and I'm still certain Korda cannot beat Ochoa have they been meet with each other's match play. So it's not ideal to appreciate Korda without saluting the legacy of Ochoa as the Greatest Women's Player of all time.

Women have the best form in gymnastics, biomathematicly they should have the best golf swings, not the power of the men, but better form.

From what i have seen, women in general have a way better swing than men. No ego, just all about the technique. me, I'm trying to smash it 300 yards and going 200 to the right instead.

I mean no disrespect but anytime you unweight yourself during the downswing, that’s energy that you’re using that is not going to the ball.
I’d say she’s one of the top players with a great multiple power source swing, but I would never use the word efficient to describe it.
Most of the Asian women are significantly more efficient.
Just my opinion.

Maybe top 5 swing but the rest of her game isn't. She doesn't play like a top player her iron play is mediocre and her putting needs work it has cost her a shot at winning alot of tournament's.
