How to Validate Email Address

Sometimes you may wonder if an email address is valid or not, or if it even exists. There is a simple way to find out. You can go to the login page of the email service and indicate that you don’t remember the password of that email account. The service will ask for the email address where they can send the password recovery instructions. Here if you enter an email address that does not exist, the service will tell you that the particular user name does not exist.

Step # 1 - To verify Gmail and Google Apps Accounts

You can also go to the Gmail Sign-up page and try creating a new Gmail account with the address that you are trying to verify. For a valid email address, the error message will read: “Someone already has that username”.

Step # 3 - To verify Yahoo Email Addresses

What I'm seeing is that most of the comments are from people with the same problem I have: when they submit their email address, some sites respond with "you need to use a valid email address" even though just like me they may have had this same email for 10 years (or more). When they clicked on this video they were expecting someone to tell them how to fix this problem (i.e. "validate" their email, or make it always be recognized as a valid email). Apparently, the author of the video was explaining how to validate OTHER peoples' email address (say respondents to an offer...)to make sure those responses were all from legitimate people who had real email addresses rather than made up addresses. Search for "why do some sites tell me my email address is not valid" & I think you'll find results that will be helpful.
