In many European cities you have plenty of top-level clubs that have been bitter rivals for literally 100+ years. They are clubs, in the true sense of the word, with academies, women’s teams, teams in other sports, outreach programs. Some of them are owned by the supporters themselves. People live and die for them. The supporters organize everything themselves. It’s a subculture, it’s NOT organized by some officials or the league or some producer. That shit would be laughed at. Commercial spectacles are frowned upon. And the question of legality (regarding flares) is irrelevant. Plus, these clubs fight hundreds of other clubs in a pyramid with relegation and promotion. With decades of history, politics, and religion infused in the mix. A “franchise system” ruled by billionaires within a closed league, with so few teams and no meritocracy, can never harness the same energy. It needs to be ground-up.

No. 5 - The team showing the tifo is Legia Warszawa, they played a Danish team FC Midtjylland, so obviously first thing you think about when u think of Denmark is LEGO, they changed up Legoland to Legioland, pretty cool word play

No. 3 - Legia was fined €35, 000 by UEFA which stands for Union of European Football Associations. Mostly for the flares and Legia overall has a very tough past with the association and during the tifo they sing a chant "Lalalala, fuck UEFA"

No. 2 - This game was right after the Warsaw Uprising anniversary which is a tradition for Legia Warsaw to show off a tifo every year during that anniversary. The tifo itself is pretty self-explanatory and what they are singing isn't a chant, but Polish national anthem.

No. 1 - The person in the tifo is holding a card with Legia Warszawa wrote on it. With "Guess who's back" cause Legia Warszawa were playing their first UEFA Champions League game in 20 years.

As a German and hardcore FC Kaiserslautern fan, I think it's great how a fan culture is slowly developing in the MLS. However, it takes decades for a firmly rooted culture to form.
In Germany, we have a lot of clubs that have been around for 50-80 years, but which are still not recognized by the fans as traditional clubs.
So be patient and stand behind your clubs in good times and bad times. Be critical of the association and express the criticism loudly and persistently. Also protest in the stadiums if the MLS wants to restrict and disadvantage you as fans. Forget your learned politeness and show the association the power of a united and strong fan base.

It’s not an entertainment show with some sports. It is serious football, it’s almost religious for a lot of supporters. Very long 100 yrs+ traditions and fan bases. Fierce competition and rivalry.

The one with the pig is by Legia Warsawa ultras, they are mocking UEFA which is the head organization for football in Europe, they are saying that a 35.000€ fine goes to Legia Warsawa (their club) bc they are using pyro and mocking UEFA, and UEFA prohibits pyro, what is stupid cuz pyro isn't a crime, and UEFA loves big clubs with lots of money cuz they can profit from them, and can also profit with small clubs bc small clubs have best ultras, and that's why you will see that any ultras group or fan calls UEFA Mafia for that, what is true.
