Atari 8-bit was developed in 1977 and released late 1979. I bought mine end of 1979. It was incredibly way ahead of its time and is probably the best all around 8-bit computer released during that time.

I love it, only minor things needed would be nice sound effects while shooting, trowing bombs and blowing up stuff, then in my eyes it would for sure beat the C64 version and to Shanti77 I love everything about bomjack Atari vbxe version, and Commando is already done so great, what i mention is just small stuff, you are the reason I started play these atari xl games, being mostly c64 addict here, but yes vbxe what a potential that brings, no matter what folks says about its not original xl machines, great job to the developer

There are sadly some tunes missing like in the "Broke the Nth area" interlude. Would love to see a non VBXE version too. Don't think the sprites would be too hard using character graphic sprites and a single sprite (4/5 per line max) for the C64 individual colour bitplanes. And be officially licensed from Elite if they are still going !

We just need a ghost and goblins VBXE that rocks then we have bombjack, commando and g&g in the mix then. Would like to see Hades Nebula converted to atari 8-bit on VBXE and Delta

I love the 800 xl, but the VBXE enhancements is not real hardware

Had a lot of potential but its not quite there. Music seems off and no sound effects is poor. Graphically and speed wise its great but it is missing key elements.

This is lousy compared to the VBXE version of bombjack released. I didn't even know what VBXE was and I knew it wasn't an atari 8-bit game. This looks in every way to be an atari 8-bit game, on par with a C64. Maybe the extra color in the enemy sprites, but as I understand it, you can stack them to get more than 2 colors (on or off).

Perhaps VBXE bombjack set my expectations too high.
