Sorry dear, control unit doesn't decide for how much time an operation is needed, rather it just synchronise the activities of the system, for an example, T0: PCTAR
Which means that the control unit initiate the operation of transferring of pc value to Ar at T0 taking the clock pulse from the clock counter

3. Consider a cache memory of 1 KB with a main memory of 1 MB. Assume that the cache is divided into 64 sets of 4 blocks each. Each block contains 4 B. Assume that the CPU requests for memory addresses of 0x108AB, 0x11C04 and 0x003E8. Where will the data be stored in cache assuming that the cache is empty when these requests are made.

2. Consider a computer system with 8 GB total memory given by the following three chips:

Chip 1 (C1): Size 2 GB with addresses from 0 up to 2 GB
Chip 2 (C2): Size 4 GB with addresses from 2 GB up to 6 GB
Chip 3 (C3): Size 2 GB with addresses from 6 GB up to 8 GB
Draw a diagram showing the three chips connected to the address bus. Explain the logic used for getting the correct Chip Enable signal to each chip. You can draw the diagram on A4 paper and submit a photograph or a scanned copy.
