You are the reason why I sold my soul to Decathlon's down jackets. Thank

I all my years of being outside there is one item I still have and use. It's from 1971 and is the Brass U.C.O. Candle lantern. Everything else has been replaced with newer ones. The replaced items are keep and not used. No need for cold weather gear, the trick here ( Florida ) is staying cool. Staying warm is not a challenge.

I live in the UK and our hikes encounter wet and uneven terrain pretty much all the time, I've had my Salomon quest 4s for the last 18 months and love them. I've had a few ankle moments that I know full well would have ended a hike had I not been wearing them. Amazing boot.

Love the fact you mentioned your favourite panties. Definately something very important in my choices for hiking. If you get chaffing issues I also recommend a roll on cream called gold bond. It's designed for runners but I was recommended by a friend who's a fire fighter and it's honestly a life saver. A little expensive but you can get it easily from Amazon.

That opening shot on the chains is too wild

Maybe try vasque st. elias boots for hiking in. Gore tex full grain leather boot. Lots of ankle support if you lace them up tight. And you always have the option to not lace them up all the way. If Im carrying a load or doing a lot of ascending or descending, ill lace them up tight. Im 6 foot 2 and 250 pounds and would absolutely destroy my ankle if I rolled it and didnt have any support. I almost do it every time I go out.

Bought the pillow and jacket based on your recommendations. Money well spent! Still sticking with my trail runners for now ;)

Picked up the Decathlon jacket a few years ago based on yr recommendation Mr. Justin - Great buy - But have to say after the toe cap started peeling off on both, the sides splitting on one and the soles having chunks ripped out of them from shale and till I can tell you that after a year of use Salomon boots are crap.

Never say never.
Regarding the REI Flash, I had one when I was on the JMT. It has to be the most uncomfortable backpack I've ever used. My back hurt the entire time. Took it back and got Osprey Exos 58.

Justin, are you getting the new 360 X3 camera? IT's pretty sweet!

I like how you're casually super high up in the mountains 😂

I have a few trips now on that same exact pair of Quest 4 boots and really like them so far. Holding up great. Super comfortable. Definitely waterproof. And my feet don’t seem to sweat too bad.

Surprised you didn't mention the OR Astroman hoodie and your Burgundy colored pants - I actually purchased 2 of the hoodies because of watching you.

I've been using my Durston Gear Kakwa pack but now I kinda miss using my Flash 55. Might have to bust it out soon.

Salomons are very comfortable but im afraid they are awful for grip, especially the Quest4d. They are like a pair of ice skates whenever there is rain. Vibram soles are the only ones i will trust now.

Justin - What pants are you wearing in this video? There’s also a pair of yellow joggers I saw in another video from maybe a year ago that looked pretty cool.

Would love your recs here!

I personally have a good experience with OR Echo underwear. They are half the weight of merino wool boxer and dries super fast without accumulating smell. Worked great for my JMT hike.

Check out Lowa boots, in particular the Camino boot... I prefer them over Salomon. Also, I prefer the Garmin Forerunner series over the Fenix - lighter, more comfortable with same performance.

I pressed 'Like' before even watching. All your content is good!

Curious why you'd say a boot would provide more support than a trail runner. Many aspects of a shoe provide support and stability, especially the stiffness and lateral rigidity of the sole. I use the Salomon quests as well and they are very table and provide great ankle support/stability in uneven terrain and rocky/rooty terrain. I have to be much more careful with my trail runner to not roll my ankles.
