Hammock - Turns to Breath (Breathturn Reinterpretation)

10 years ago today, we released Chasing After Shadows... Living With the Ghosts. Around the time we started working on the Far Cry 5 "We Will Rise Again" soundtrack, we also began exploring our catalog in search of songs to revisit, deconstruct, and reinterpret. After some evaluation, we stumbled back into "Breathturn." "Turns to Breath" is the result. We hope you like it.

Breathturn was the first Hammock song I ever heard. I stumbled upon it one day early in my post-rock journey and I liked it, but later on when I went to listen again, I couldn't recall who it was by. All I remembered was that ethereal vocal. I must have searched for hours through the bigger post-rock bands' discographies before rediscovering yours.

I bought Chasing After Shadows... immediately after, and the rest is history...

Breathturn, ah yes breathturn really helped my difficult teenage years. Illness, love, loneliness, School, discovering myself. That song & Still secrets remaining shaped me to the Man I am today. I'm 23 years old now and I always come back to Chasing After Shadows, just like I did back in 2011. Thank you Hammock <3

has it already been 10 years!? geez. i remember discovering hammock music January 2011 i was listening to music by air and breath turn was in the youtube recommended off to the side. so i gave it a try after 5 minutes of listening i went off and bought 3 albums without thinking about it off amazon that day :P (i rarely just buy albums off the bat like that) i listen and bought hammock music religiously up to 2017. i think i whore myself out on it but now im ready for another go now :P breath turn was also the first song i used to make professional music video for an event i went to. good times :P

Breathturn is my all time fav track from hammock. And this beautiful track is consider as the child of breathturn. I just love this track as much as i loved breathturn. It is the only song that i played when i was both happy and down. Thank you hammock for all the masterpiece!

I listen to a lot of music, many different genres, but what Hammock does to me, no other music could ever achieve, its indescribable.
Breathturn is also one of my personal favorites. I deal with chronic depression for almost 7 years now and when I listen to Hammock I feel like I'm understood. I don't feel no longer excluded, I feel like the musicians can understand my struggles. This music has a huge impact on people.
