1974 Datsun 260Z Commercial

Here is a commercial from 1974 showing the USDM Datsun 260Z. This model was offered with the larger displacement 2.6l OHC six cylinder L26 engine to keep the power ratio about the same as the 240Z since new emmission controls had to be added for the US market. This was the last Z to have carburetors.

I've never seen a commercial for this year before. This was my 2nd car, had the 2+2 version. The dual Hitachi carbs were tricky to get right and the rocker panels rusted quickly. I fixed the rust and painted it in my garage, which came out pretty good.

Yo, that's pretty cool! My friend had one of these but he put a 440 Chrysler big block in it with reverse exhaust manifolds out the fenders to sidepipes that layed rubber half mile down the street with just 2 little love taps on the gas
