This is our 1964 Ford Falcon Sports Futura hardtop that we are in the finishing stages of our restoration. Our restoration goal was to build a "What if Ford had built a HIPO 271 hp 289cid Falcon in 1964?".
Unfortunately, the FoMoCo never optioned it's solid lifter 271hp, HIPO 289cid engine in the Ford Falcons manufactured in the U.S.A.

Our Falcon has the following features, engine and car modifications:
BODY -
-Paint is original color Phoenician Yellow, 1964 Ford Falcon Futura Sports Coupe hardtop body code 63C.
-Palomino bucket seat interior.
ENGINE - Ford 289cid with a Comp Cams 270S solid lifter cam,
* Comp Cams solid lifter cam, p/n 31-333-4.
- Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.499 int./0.499 exh.
- Duration at .050-inch Lift: 224 int./224 exh.
- Advertised Duration: 270 int./270 exh.
- Lobe Separation (degrees): 110
- Valve Lash: 0.022 in.
- Grind Number: FS 270S-10.
- Basic Operating RPM Range: 1,800-5,800.
* Cylinder heads are 1969 302 heads that have screw in rocker arm stud and guide plates added. Mildly ported heads with 1.90 and 1.60 valves. Harland Sharp full roller rocker arms.
* Summit Racing 600cfm vacuum secondary carburetor.
* Summit Racing Hi-rise dual plane manifold.
* 1976 Granada cast exhaust manifolds that are shaped similar to the Hipo 289cid "K" motor exhaust manifold.
TRANSMISSION -
-1965 Ford C4 "Greed Dot" automatic transmission with valve body shift kit and a 2K stall torque converter.
- Lokar floor mounted shifter.
REAR AXLE -
- Ford 8" (open differential at this time) 3.23:1.
- Addco Performance 0.875in Diameter," Rear sway bar.
STEERING & SUSPENSION -
-Shelby drop relocated upper control arms,
- Viking Performance fully adjustable coil over shocks.
- SPC adjustable strut rods.
- 1" Front stabilizer bar.
- Rebuilt stock 1965 Falcon manual steering manual box.
BRAKES - 1976 Ford Granada front disk brakes, master cylinder and proportioning valve.
EXHAUST - 2" Exhaust with H-pipe cross over, 2 Porter Muffler featuring a steel wool packed straight thru flow design.

Note: This was filmed right after we got this car running and I wasn't trying to do any burn outs with it at that time, I was trying different carburetors, timing settings and adjusting the shift points with vacuum modulator on the C4 transmission. I switched from an old Holley 4160 600cfm, VS, carb to the Summit Racing M08600VS Carburetor. But that will be a good idea for a future video.

A flat Amazin Gorgouse Falcon as I own a 64 Futura sport roof also mine is the Blue Green with a 302 EFI and Auto overdrive from a 94 Mustang GT my X wife backed into the front of it messing up both front fenders headlight rings bumper and the valance behind the bumper and finding the parts are next to impossible over hear in Ohio Someday ill get lucky. But until then its Great too see Ultra fine ones still around

My first new car was a 1964 Falcon Sprint 4-speed factory tach 260 cid small block with chrome engine covers . If I'd have known Ford offered the 289 HI PO in the little Fairlane, that would have been what I would have bought . But I was just 21 at the time . My first car was a1950 Ford 2 dr sedan I was a sophomore in high school . It was black with white tuck & role pleated interior twin short lake pipes & duals out the back all coming from a flathead 6 & one exhaust pipe ! Porta-wall white wall tires black rims and baby moons . Three on on the tree transmission . I was a power shifting 15 year old car gear head to the bone . Those were the glory days ! Love your car man, thanks for the memories .

thats a beautiful machine bro *!! I've been looking at cars on Volo museum site. my main interest is focusing on the Ford Falcon futura and it must be a standard transmission.

Would you like to tell us what exactly do you have under the hood? Or are we just suppose to guess. Ok maybe a 260 with a 2 bbl and a 3 speed manual with some dressy stuff that is suppose to make us think you have some kind of Cobra engine in it. Or you could just let us know why all the Cobra logos are all over the engine.
