Penny Mordaunt throws SNP 'correct the record' jibe back at them highlighting high Scottish taxes

At Westminster today Penny Mordaunt was pushed by the SNP's Patricia Gibson over a previous comment where Ms Mordaunt had said 'People in England pay lower taxes than people in Scotland.'

Ms Gibson asked the Tory MP to correct the record.

Ms Mordaunt then went on to give examples of various workers who pay higher taxes in Scotland compared to in England.

This SNP mouthpiece just said @ 00:26 that "the Scottish Government by law must deliver a balanced budget''.
Well an SNP Government never has and that is NOT the law as she quotes it. Even the current and former First Ministers admit they do and have run fiscal deficits. Its a matter of record. Last year it was some £19 Bn all funded by English taxpayers (because both Wales and NI also run fiscal deficits paid for by English taxpayers).
Anyone can check by reading GERS or Google Statista who say:
"In the 2022/23 financial year the budget deficit in Scotland was £19.2 Bn, compared with £24.9 Bn in the previous year"

Their ability to just speak utter nonsense and think we will believe it confuses us with [some] Scottish voters.

Here's a reality as a Scottish high earner in a skilled and desired trade.... If i moved England tomorrow, i would get 200 quid a month extra in my pocket. Tell me, why would i stay in scotland? Well i won't be and many other professionals in high skilled, high paid jobs will be making the same decisions. The brain drain is going to destroy Scotland and they don't see it.

[edit] i am not in the slightest bit gleeful at this fact. I was born in Scotland, i have lived most of my life here and i love it. However, it's just not working any more and it's no longer sensible to remain here. I cannot express how sad i am to make these decisions, there's no other options any more.
