OLEDCOMM shows Li-Fi, 10mbitps Internet by Light

preview_player
Показать описание
Transforms any LED light into Internet bandwidth. The light modulates at a very high frequency at up to 300 thousand times per second. Connect your bulb to your ADSL/Fiber box, and anywhere the light reaches, a receiver can download that data at up to an up to 10mbitps speed. For upload, the system can use infrared or something else. They are just waiting for an investor, and all of the world may be using this technology for sending Internet data in the future.

I have already seen something like this from the german Fraunhofer Institute. Its nice to see a company making this technology ready  for sales.

Wow. LiFi is actually a standard, so this is real. I understand it's using your existing LED lights, they just use a LiFi router to power and feed data to the lights.

The guy there is not the inventor of Li-Fi, i guess they wanted to say the main engineer in Oledomm even HASS is not the inventor...Bell started with that before anybody else, Japanese been working on that since 2005, so...! But good initiative though! I would like to work with Oledcomm :)

Just light and internet? Imagine those lights gives out wireless energy source, useful for charging electronics, planes and cars, that would be a revolution.

what did they do to make the off shelf leds sent to the smart phone ..?

This seems like something useful for factories and other high EMI environments where WiFi or similar RF would be interfered with

does LI-FI work with MacBook and iPhones or android phones ?

Also this wouldn't work, the receiver, since it wasn't transmitting with wifi or other light ( *I assume* ) there's no way to send a GET request.

I shouldn't have lights and receivers on both point. For uploading and downloading??

If the light act as an antenna emitting the data to our phones with light detectors or receivers, how do we send data back? Then we would have to install a light receiver in every room in the office just to accommodate that. Receiving signal from the cloud will only require us to install one device on our main electrical source, but sending a signal will just be like wifi, one device in every room. I really like this idea, but I can't see how it will be better than existing wifi.

The guy said "10 megabyte" shouldn't the title say 10 MBps not Mbps
