Grief is a hard battle and I’m learning as I go. I miss having my lil Supawvisor in the studio with me when making videos, livestreaming or editing. Again, thanks for all the support, I know we’ll get through this!

Ethan, you never need to say sorry for anything! The joy, inspiration and warmth that you and Kim bring to everyone is something you should feel proud of! We will miss you Gus, but you will always be remembered.

I can relate in an east-coast way; we lost our Golden retriever-mix 'Mac' about a year ago and its still difficult to talk about him without getting emotional. We were never dog people until a neighbor suddenly passed away and we 'rescued' him. He instantly became a loved member of our family and we still miss him.
Then we had Hurricane Helene a couple of months ago which also shut out power off for a week and brought our community together. But the local trails are still a mess and will take a long time to recover. My runs are also interrupted with climbing over blow downs and finding alternate routes. So east coast, west coast...same thing. Sorry for your loss.

So sorry, guys. Losing a dog/family member/best friend is never easy. Please know that Gus had the best life possible because of you.

I feel so sorry for your loss, I’ve been a daily brew crew member since the inception and Gus was so much a part of it. I feel the loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to you both. I know he was a part of you.❤️🙏

Glad to hear you survived the storm. Sorry to hear of your loss. This is commonly attributed to Sir Walter Scott: "I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion to the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time? The misery of keeping a dog is his dying so soon. But, to be sure, if he lived for fifty years and then died, what would become of me?"

Grief is such a strange thing. Comes in waves… feel good some days and then out of nowhere it just hits. Take time when needed, everything else will still be here

So very sorry to hear about Gus. There was a quote I found particularly comforting when my Mom passed from cancer years ago. It was "Grief is proof that love persists." It helped me navigate the grieving process from that loss, and the way the grief changes over time. He'll continue to live in your memories of him, but I'm sure going to miss seeing/hearing him on the live streams.

what helped me a little was learning that grief is love with nowhere to go

I lost my beautiful dog Poppy in July. We had her since she was a few weeks old. She grew up with my two children. It's still hurts. I miss her like crazy. I just tell myself it's meant to be painful because of the love we have for her. Sending you both love from the UK. Chris

Hey dude - so sorry to hear about your loss. It's wild how hard it is to deal with losing a beloved pet, but like others have pointed out - you gave the wee doggo the best life possible. That's ultimately all we can do.

It was definitely sad to hear about Gus . I have my Gus postcard over top of my desk I that I look at every day . Losing a friend like Gus is not easy. We lost our 13yo GSP and both of our Horses ( all due to old age) within about 6 weeks . It took us a couple of years to get another horse and even longer before we were ready for another dog . Now we have a almost 3 yo Yellow Lab after realizing how much the kids were missing out on having a dog in the house .

Dogs are the best people. I feel your pain. We’ve been married 44 years this year and a few weeks ago we buried our third dog of 14 years - It very was tough. Glad you’re back at it. 😊🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I'm so sorry to hear about Gus. Seeing your videos over the years you two were amazing family for him. Having lost my own Gus years ago, and having almost lost my little lady Scarlett earlier this year (she made it through a rather dire situation), I know that pain. I just remind myself that I have given all the love I can to these balls of fuzzy stardust, and that I am richer for having been able to be part of their lives.
