'This is 2020': Ring in the New Year with Barbara Walters

It's been trending for awhile, but on Tuesday morning, the Good Morning America crew officially said goodbye to 2019 and let ABC News legend Barbara Walters ring in 2020 with her iconic catchphrase.

After asking, "Barbara, what year is it?" the mashup kicks off with several clips of Walters delivering the "This is 20/20" signature opening line of the longtime television news magazine she anchored for a quarter century.

Then, it's time for the stars of ABC and ESPN to give it a go.

I’m so glad you did a tribute to Barbara Walters. She is a true pioneer and she broke the glass ceiling for women in network journalism. I just wish you would have run it at midnight when the ball dropped in Times Square. It would have been perfect. She is 90 years old now. A remarkable woman who truly deserves our utmost respect. On a side note, little did we all know that 2020 would be one long episode of 20/20. One crazy/sad story after another. Along with Covid, the summer protests/riots, and the election, it seemed like EVERYONE was going through something that year. It seemed like there were more stories from people I knew/knew of going through personal battles of some kind.
