Pathologists have been removing the bodies of 18 suspected cash-in-transit robbers from a crime scene in Limpopo.

The 16 men and two women were killed in a shootout between the police and suspected robbers at a house in Eltivilas, Louis Trichardt on Friday.

Police believe that the 18 are linked to the eleven cash-heists in the province since the beginning of the year.

The suspects were killed on Friday, after officers tracked them for three days.

Two Zimbabwean nationals, suspected to be part of the syndicate, are among the deceased.

Earlier, we spoke to SABC News Reporter Mahlako Komane who is tracking the story for us.

As a whistleblower this actions by the police need to be done in all parts of SA but with professionalism, SA criminals are operating freely without fear, collecting protection fees money by the citizens of SA hijacking cars with the help of police ex: if you build a flats for yr tenants, or having small business, the hawks, police are doing nothing and this criminals mostly are in the taxis industry...

If you know your boss is involved in crime and you don't report it the day when arrest is made you will be arrested or if confrontation exist you will be affected.

The question is are the police going to give those bodies to the families of those criminals? Why don't they just dig a deep hole and throw those bodies there? Why give dignity to criminals?

How did that Zimbabwean woman get to own that house!? I hope there's no political link. SA govt should confiscate these properties bought with heist monies.
