It may seem a bit egotistical for someone to brand themselves as a saint, but for Annie Clark--stage name St. Vincent--such a lordly moniker is totally justified. Though Clark actually took her name from a Nick Cage song and has no desire to canonize herself (that's a job for music writers!), her name is fitting because she really is a patron saint of modern pop music.

Clark has a rep as a guitar hero, and though the may have honed her chops during three years of study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, she's much more than a mere virtuoso. Certainly, her otherworldly guitar playing is impressive, but few virtuosos ever write songs as good as hers. Her art-damaged brand of indie rock draws from many artistic wells, her lyrics are poetic and thoughtfully composed, her melodies are catchy, and her riffs are awesome.

When you consider Clark's brilliance in all aspects of her songwriting, it's clear that she is a true pop auteur in the vein of David Bowie or Prince. So, our friends at Ernie Ball jumped at the chance to work with her on a new signature model guitar. Wildwoodians, we are proud to present the fruits of their labors: the Ernie Ball Music Man St. Vincent Signature.

That guitar has weird switching. You may have noticed it didn't sound "right".
Going in order from position 5 to 1 (like Greg did):
5 - Neck & Bridge
4 - All three
3 - Neck
2 - Middle
1 - Bridge

I always find a Greg demo before I buy a guitar so I’ll know whether it looks silly on a tall guy. Thank you sir, great playing and sweet axe!!!!

Love that guitar. Being a Gibson Firebird lover that would look right at home with me on stage. Greg is superb.

Great looking guitars...I like the matte black ones...they look menacing. But the solid white ones are beautiful, too!

Greg proved what I suspected: The St Vincent is great for far more than just the new wave and pop that St Vincent herself records and plays. With the three mini humbuckers, it's a bad ass blues guitar! And those in between tones, if drenched in reverb and delay, would make lovely ambient guitar tones. And of course it can do classic rock tones.

Greg. Listen. There’s a lot of guys who demo guitars on YouTube. Some of them are very good. But you, Sir, have the magical ability to inspire. To be honest, we can’t afford the Fender Custom Shop Wildwood 10s. But you make us want to play and get better. I’m selfishly glad you didn’t go to Nashville to blow everyone else out of the water. But you are not that kinda guy and I dig it. So, thank you.

The guitar looks like a sparkly bow tie, 50 % new, 50% old, that and the armada are nice shapes, the word sharp comes to mind

Great guitar. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a tiny bit difficult to play on the very highest ends of the guitar but that's not a very big complaint. Thing is bad ass. Love the aqua blue looking sparkle goodness as well. Would look even better with a matching pick guard perhaps as well.

I will never own one, but I dig the Daphne Blue HH version, a Mid-priced guitar that sounds pretty good.

Sonically like the Duo Jet. That's not a bad thing.
